Living through – and being pregnant in this pandemic was not exactly the way I saw this past year going. My pregnancy journey has had its fair share of difficulties, especially thanks to doctors who helped me to go through this Covid-19. Also, we live around 300 miles away from our families, making it even more difficult for us to share big news that they are going to be grandparents soon.
That being said, in spite of government restrictions on travel, lockdown we were not able to get our gender scan to be done in order to get known we are welcoming a baby boy or baby girl in our home.
HOW DID WE FIND OUT THE GENDER OF BABY?
We found out in an anatomy scan (which is usually done around 20-weeks pregnant).It was a bit of an exciting and curious way for us to know our new baby gender . The sonographer saw our excitement and hence we were lucky to get to know that we are again welcoming a baby girl in our family.
WHY DID WE DO A GENDER REVEAL SCAN?
Doing gender reveal scan before pregnancy, is a relatively new trend being followed here in the UK, but we have done one for all our childrens. Besides social media, we searched and found some more ideas on pinterest and dribble for gender reveal parties.
WHO DID WE INFORM ABOUT THE GENDER REVEAL SCAN?
As my husband and I already knew, we decided to do it with our close friends and our families As gender reveal scan was a very happy and glorious moment with our family members and close one as everyone was so excited to know about the good news.
HOW DID WE REVEAL?
Firstly, we decided what we wanted to reveal. Then we hosted a party including foods and cakes and suitable eating items in order to make it memorable for everyone and us too.
For my husband’s family we organised a WhatsApp Call.
With some pink balloons and a little help from our daughters, we told all of them – including our children who had no idea. Everyone was super excited, especially on the faces of our two girls who were expecting a baby sister.
For my family, we organised a call on Zoom.
There is a bit more on my side, and as our children knew this time, they wanted to be involved in how we revealed. We picked up a proper way and a smooth technique to tell everyone on my side that we are expecting another baby girl.
With a couple of ideas from the internet we made it super awesome for all family members. Overall we did it smoothly and our family members were also happy as we were.
Everyone is so excited including me and my husband and now that we are over halfway, the countdown begins!
